STEVE'S TEAM CHRISTMAS CARDS 2022

This year the Christmas cards are back and better than ever! We have two beautiful designs made by two amazing friends. We have 'Snowmen in the Night'- designed by Emily Menlove, in light of our first Winter Football World Cup and we have 'The Wykeham' designed by Mads Hodges, which is of a local pub in Winchester. We are so proud of the designs this year!

Just a reminder of our aims at Steve's Team. Your donations will support local community sport, through bursaries to University Sports Clubs, raffles in local sports competitions, supporting amateur athletes in travelling to competitions overseas and the list goes on. Buying Steve's Team Christmas cards is a way of giving back to community sport and helping to strengthen the links between mental and physical health. You can scan this QR code to visit the JustGiving Page. And like always, it is all #forsteve.

This would not be possible without some very special people. Mads Hodges and Emily Menlove of course for their wonderful designs. Also @sprintdigitaldorchester who printed the cards for us and will be helping us to send them out. Finally to our followers who continue to support and donate to Steve's Team. Thank you.

STEVE'S TEAM SWIM HATS

Our latest project has been creating Steve's Team swim hats. With both Cerys and Charlotte and lots of the athletes we've worked with being swimmers, including European silver medalist Imogen Clark, we decided to create these hats to represent our charity in the pool. They are £10 each and you can order them by messaging us on any of our social medias, linked below. As always all proceeds go to creating more opportunities for young people in sport. Keep in touch for much more in this area soon.

STEVE'S TEAM CHRISTMAS CARDS

This Christmas it seems more important than usual to take the time to reach out to people you may not have seen for a while with more than just a "like".

We have asked two friends of Steve's Team to design cards specially for us to encourage us to keep in touch and reach out to people we love this Christmas.

THE WESTGATE TALENTED ATHLETES PROGRAMME (WTAP)

Launched on the 26th February 2020

Steve's team is working with The Westgate School Winchester on the Westgate Talented Athlete Programme. The scheme aims to motivate and support Year 11 athletes through their GCSE year and transition to sixth form college. Steve's Team will fund professional athletes to share their experiences and advice to the students, as well as broaden their horizons of post secondary school options by providing a tour of Winchester University's prestigious sports facilities.

PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES INVOLVED

-Poppy and Bryony Cleall (Womens England Rugby)
-Imogen Clark (International swimmer)

The Year 11 students and Year 9 Girls Rugby team at the Westgate School heard all about the struggles of a balanced lifestyle from England Rugby stars Poppy and Bryony Cleall and the Westgate girls rugby team received first hand advice from the sisters in a training session out on the field. The Year 11s also heard from Imogen Clark, British and Commonwealth record holder, about managing a sports heavy schedule and stress during exams. A massive thank you to Bryony, Poppy and Imogen for sharing their knowledge and reality with the students.

WINCHESTER UNIVERSITY TOUR

The Year 11 students also got a tour of Winchester University's new sports facilities including their bio-mechanical lab, in which the student athletes got to witness a VO2 max test. The university also showed the Year 11s their gym; in which the students undertook plyometric testing using the equipment. Amy Wright (Sport Exercise and Health Lecturer) also advocated the sport specific courses at Winchester University including sports physiotherapy, sports coaching and many more. A massive thank you to Winchester University for opening their facilites to the Westgate Talented Athletes Programme.
